Owen provided full Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Engineering design services for the MLK Transit.
The project entailed the construction of a new 10,000 gsf, $12 M, multi-modal center with new canopy bus bays at the bus terminal, enhanced traffic circulation for passenger pick-up and drop offs, new way-finding signage, office and retail space. City officials called the project a “key component” for the city’s downtown master plan to achieve transit oriented development. It is adjacent to the Metro Blue Line Compton Station, retail/commercial and high density housing.
