Owen is providing DGS with a concept plan for the Southern California Veterans in the City of Irvine's Great Park in Orange County

As a task order under Owen's State of California, Department of General Services (DGS), Architectural Retainer Services Master Contract for Southern California, Owen is providing DGS with a concept plan for the Southern California Veterans in the City of Irvine's Great Park in Orange County. The conceptual plan for will be for approximately 125 acres and phased for 100 years with 200,000 total burials, including cremation and pre-cast, in-ground burial crypts. Owen will support the environmental analysis being completed and incorporate the results as part of the concept plan. This is the largest single project in the Great Park.

As part of the concept plan, a detailed development for Phase 1 will include approximately 17 acres of onsite development. The plan will include a main entry roadway with a two-lane cortege assembly area, an administrative and visitors center building, maintenance building, one acre maintenance yard, committal shelter, flag assembly area, memorial walk, memorial section for monuments and memorials, and other services, such as surveying, mapping, and geotechnical.

The architectural plans include concept floor plans and elevations, signage system, interior design scheme, furniture placement, and space program analysis.

Services include civil and utility design (sewer, storm water, natural gas, domestic water, irrigation, drainage, etc.), mechanical and HVAC, electrical, and plumbing design, and floor plans for MEP systems, irrigation, landscape architecture, as well as a hazardous materials site assessment, and draft concept plan cost estimates
