The University of California, Riverside (UCR) is located on nearly 1,200 acres close to downtown Riverside. At the heart of the Inland Empire, UCR serves as one of the most educational and cultural resources for the area. The campus will see significant growth over the next few years and beyond. UCR is renowned for its research and development programs.
Henrikson Owen & Associates, Inc. (Henrikson Owen) was recently awarded two projects by UCR to conduct mechanical (HVAC), electrical, and plumbing (MEP) studies and designs for the existing MEP systems at Boyce Hall and the Physics Building. The projects are established in two phases, as follows:
- Phase 1 | Existing Building mechanical (HVAC), Controls, Electrical, and Plumbing Systems Assessment, Assessment of On-Going and Future Research and Impacts to Current mechanical (HVAC) Controls, Controls and Electrical Systems, Development of Strategies and Options, including Costs, for the Implementation to Meet the Needs of Current and Future Research Programs and Processes.
- Phase 2 | Executive Design Professional Services for Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Bidding, and Construction Phases.
Both the Boyce Hall and Physics Buildings have been targeted as capital improvement projects to increase the building’s capacity to support research needs.
